Sometimes catholic churches run school, college or universities for teaching catholic students. They fund them and run the administration. These are called catholic universities. Catholic universities are popular from the very beginning. They are usually very strict in discipline. Beside academic education they provide spiritual knowledge. Not only catholic students but also other students are allowed to study here. At the early age of education catholic universities were home of female education. Catholic universities were founded to educate holy brothers and sisters. But later it was spread.

University of Notre Dame:

University of Notre Dame is in Indiana State of the USA. Formerly it had only male students. But after 1972, it enrolled female students too. It offers fifteen masters and twenty six doctoral degrees in total. Most of the students here are residential. They are highly catholic is faith. Not only among catholic universities, is it famous in all over the USA.

Georgetown University:

Georgetown University is in near Washington, the USA. It has other campuses too in Italy, Qatar and Turkey. It offers graduate degree with 48 majors and in four academic fields. It provides shuttle services for its students. Admission rate in Georgetown University is very low. They are very selective. They provide online education too. The admission process of this university is also competitive; you have to prepare yourself fully to get admitted into this university.

Villanova University:

Villanova University is in Pennsylvania State in the USA. Villanova offers undergrad and grad programs in four academic fields and post grad in one. It is the first catholic university in Pennsylvania. The business school of Villanova University is very good. Every year thousands of students apply here but only few gets chance.

Fordham University:

Fordham University serves from the New York City. It runs undergrad, grad and post grad programs. It has ten schools in total. Four schools are for grad and undergrad degrees. For post grad, there are six schools. It has residential services. They follow Jesuits. Residence and transportation is available here for students.

Loyola University of New Orleans:

91% of faculty of Loyola University, New Orleans are doctorates and highly qualified. Loyola is known best for undergrad programs. They have eleven faculties under five schools. It is in the Louisiana state of America. Students from outside are required to stay on campus halls for first two years of undergrad program. Post grad students don’t need to do that.

Catholic universities have always maintained their standard. Their characteristic is fully catholic. They run their educational programs based on Jesuit. Amongst catholic universities, Roman Catholics dominate most. Catholic universities have huge number of enrollments. They provide rent facility and transportation. Though they are named catholic universities, they do not treat badly to students of other religion. It only maintains a religious environment. Funds generally come from regarding catholic churches or famous people who want to contribute to church.
